Noritz NR50, NR66 & NR71 error codes

The oldest Noritz range on this site and the one with the shortest table — seventeen codes, with no condensate neutralizer, no water servo codes and no multi-system codes, because these units have none of those things. What it has instead is the problem nobody writes about: **on an NR71 or N-0631S with no remote controller connected, there is no code to read.** There is a light, and it flashes a number of times. Noritz prints a second table just for that, mapping the flash count to the fault, and every page below carries it — so if your unit is flashing four times and you have nowhere to type a code, start there. The flash counts belong to the NR71 and N-0631S without a remote; with a controller fitted, or on an NR50, NR66 or N-0531S, you read the number directly.
