Rinnai SENSEI Code 14

Overheat sensor or thermal fuse tripped. An overheat sensor on the side of the heat exchanger tripped and shut the unit down. Rinnai says plainly that code 14 indicates overheating and should be taken seriously. The switch resets itself once the heat exchanger cools, so the heater may appear to recover — and will trip again until the cause is fixed. Common causes are a scaled or blocked heat exchanger and a wrong gas type or altitude setting.

Because the SENSEI has no LC scale lockout to warn you first. Where a SENSEI RX would lock out on LC while there is still time, a SENSEI runs on until an overheat or exhaust temperature limit stops it.
