Noritz NR98 & NR111 Code 14
Thermal fuse triggered. The overheat prevention device — a thermal fuse — has opened. Noritz checks the fuse for melting or damage and its connection. A thermal fuse is a one-shot part: it does not reset, and it opened because something made the appliance hot enough to need it. The overheat routes on this table are shorter than on the sibling NCC199 range: code 20 here is a single high limit switch, not the two Noritz notes there, and there is no neutralizer drain to back up into the flue. That leaves scale — code 59 — as the cause worth ruling out first.
