Flushing / service alarm. Not a fault. E760 is Navien's service reminder: the heater has reached the point where it wants flushing and servicing. Navien's own instruction is to contact the installer to perform routine service. Left alone, what follows is not a nagging light — it is the overheat and exhaust-temperature codes that scale eventually causes.

Book or do a descale. Nothing has failed yet, which is exactly why this is the cheapest moment to act. A flush costs supplies and an hour if you have the valve kit; a plumber's flush is typically $150-300. Ignoring it is how units arrive at E016 and E030.

What you can safely check

- Clean the cold water inlet filter while the unit is drained; on A2 models there is a recirculation inlet filter as well.

Can I just clear it and carry on?
You can silence a reminder. You cannot silence the scale it is reminding you about — and Navien's warranty excludes damage caused by hard water deposits and lime or mineral build-up.
How often should an NPE-2 be flushed?
Once a year is the usual baseline, more often on hard water. The reminder is time-based, so it is a floor, not a diagnosis: if your water is hard, flush before it asks.
