Noritz NRC Series Code 61
Fan motor fault. The combustion fan is not turning as expected. Noritz checks that the fan rotates, reads the pulse frequency from the fan's rotational frequency sensor, looks for an improper connection, and measures the voltage the circuit board is supplying. Two of the three display-window codes point at the fan; the third, 612, Noritz attributes to circuit board failure.

- Listen at the unit when it tries to start — whether the fan spins up at all is the first thing a technician will ask.
- If the fan is audibly noisy or slow, say so: a failing bearing gets loud before it gets slow.
