NCC199 & NRC111 — Neutralizer or water level electrode fault
The condensate is not getting away, or the electrode watching it is not reporting properly. Noritz gives three checks: the drain pipe for blockage, the neutralizer for blockage, and the neutralizer water level electrode connection. There is also a technician's note — the on/off condition of the electrode can be read on maintenance monitor 19, where 000 is normal and 111 is abnormal.
NRC Series — Condensate container clogged
The condensate is not draining. A condensing water heater makes several litres of acidic water a day and has to get rid of it; when the container or its drain line backs up, the unit stops. Noritz's check is a single line — is the drain line clogged or frozen. Frozen is the one worth knowing about, because it means the answer is the season rather than the appliance.
