Remote controller communication failure. The remote controller and the water heater are not communicating — a link fault rather than a failure of either end. Shown as 74 on a T-K4 or T-KJr2 remote; Takagi lists no red LED flash count for it, which makes sense, since without a remote there is nothing to fail.
